This site deals with providing the same information to Environmentalists, Researchers, Planners, Administrators, Decision makers and Local communities to provide them with sound, adequate and updated information on forests of India and on role of Remote Sensing & Geographic Information System (GIS), thus supporting a holistic approach to planning and forest management.
 
 
Forests have acquired increasing importance in the recent past for their role not only in meeting the material requirements but also for their ecological and environmental functions. Therefore accurate and updated information on forest resources is of paramount importance.
