The long-awaited series victory against England may have finally happened, but according to Player of the MatchMehidy Hasan, what truly matters is that Bangladesh has secured a series win regardless of the opposition. Mehidy stated that every international series is important and that winning against any team brings happiness. He emphasized that there is no preference for beating one team over another, as the feeling of victory remains the same. AsMehidy put it, “At the end of the day, which team won? Bangladesh.” Following his outstanding all-round performance, which helped Bangladesh secure a nervy win in the second matcMehidy expressed his joy and pride in the team’s success.

“We have all emerged victorious, and it’s a reason to celebrate. While winning against any team brings happiness, defeating a major team like England certainly adds to the joy. We had won against every team except for England, and now that we have clinched the T20I series against them, we can proudly say that we have beaten every team and won a series,” he remarked.   BAN vs ENG Match  BAN vs ENG Match

Mehidy’s fantastic performance of 4-12 in four overs played a pivotal role in Bangladesh’s ability to bowl out England for a mere 117 runs. However, the team’s captain, Shakib Al Hasan, made sure that the players remained focused and grounded in the dressing room. According toMehidy, Shakib bhai cautioned the team against becoming too complacent after restricting the opponents to such a low score. He emphasized that there was no reason to celebrate just yet and that the team would only be able to enjoy the victory once they had won the game. ban vs eng 2023live  ban vs eng 2023live

Mehedy expressed his joy in being able to repay the trust of the team management, who had brought him back into the playing XI of the T20 setup after nearly a five-month gap. His last T20I appearance was against South Africa in Sydney, where he went wicketless and gave away 32 runs in three overs. Since that match, he was not considered for the remaining three matches in the T20 World Cup against Zimbabwe, India, and Pakistan. Furthermore, he was benched in the opening game against England in this series. However,Mehidy made a remarkable comeback by recording his career-best figures and contributing significantly to Bangladesh’s victory. Bangladesh’s Bangladesh’s

On the other hand, England captain Jos Butler acknowledged that his team fell short by 10 to 15 runs in the game. After being asked to bat first, England struggled against the Bangladesh bowlers, losing wickets at regular intervals. Butler praised his team’s bowling performance, saying that they did exceptionally well to take the match deep and put pressure on Bangladesh while chasing the modest target. He further noted that it was an unusual low-scoring T20 match, and the extra 10 or 15 runs could have made a significant difference in the outcome of the game.

According to Buttler, the pitch did not come as a surprise to him, as he anticipated it to be difficult to play on. He mentioned that England had previously played two ODI matches on the same ground, and the pitch played similarly to those games. He emphasized the need for adaptation and playing well in such challenging conditions.
