Selection Procedure for SBI Clerk Recruitment 2022
The selection process for SBI Clerk Recruitment 2022 will comprise of an online test, including Preliminary and Main exams, as well as a test of the specified local language opted by the candidate.
Phase I: Preliminary Examination: The Preliminary Examination will be conducted online and will consist of objective tests with a total of 100 marks. The exam will have a duration of 1 hour and will comprise of 3 sections, as mentioned below:

Important Notes to look into:
i. Reserved vacancies for OBC category are only applicable to candidates belonging to the “Non-creamy layer” of OBC. Candidates belonging to OBC category but falling under the “CREAMY LAYER” are not eligible for any relaxation or reservation available to OBC category. They should indicate their category as General or General (LD/VI/HI/d&e) as applicable.
ii. OBC category candidates need to submit an OBC certificate in the format prescribed by the Government of India, which should have the “Non-Creamy Layer” clause. The certificate should be issued during the period from 01.04.2022 to the date of taking up the appointment, if selected.
iii. Reservation for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) in recruitment is governed by the Office Memorandum no. 36039/1/2019-Estt (Res) dated 31.01.2019 of the Department of Personnel & Training, Ministry of Personnel (DoPT), Public Grievance & Pensions, Government of India. Please note that EWS vacancies are tentative and subject to further directives of the Government of India and outcome of any litigation. The appointment is provisional and is subject to the income & asset certificate being verified through the proper channels.
iv. The benefit of reservation under EWS category can be availed upon production of an ‘Income and Asset Certificate’ issued by a Competent Authority, in the format prescribed by the Government of India, for the relevant financial year as per the extant guidelines of the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT).
v. EWS candidates are required to produce the ‘Income & Assets Certificate’ for the relevant financial year, as per the extant guidelines of DoPT, on the date of document verification, which will be intimated to the provisionally selected candidates by the Bank. Therefore, the ‘Income & Assets Certificate’ for the relevant financial year should be obtained by the candidate on or before the date of document verification. No request for an extension of time for the production of the ‘Income & Assets Certificate’ beyond the said date will be entertained. If a candidate fails to produce the ‘Income & Assets Certificate’ on the date of document verification, he/she will not be considered for appointment in the Bank for the post of Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales).
vi. Candidates who are currently working in SBI in the Clerical cadre are not eligible to apply under this project. Candidates who were earlier employed in State Bank of India and resigned from the Bank while in the clerical cadre will also not be eligible to apply for the post.
vii. Candidates against whom there are adverse reports regarding character & antecedents, moral turpitude, etc., are not eligible to apply for the post.
viii. Candidates who have defaulted in repayment under any lending arrangement with Banks or NBFCs, either need to get the CIBIL status updated or produce the NOCs from the lender, on or before the date of joining in the selected post. Failing to do so, the letter of offer shall be withdrawn/cancelled.
Probation Period:
Selected candidates will be bound by the terms and conditions of the Service Regulations of the Bank that are in force at the time of joining. The newly appointed Junior Associates will be placed on probation for a minimum period of 6 months. During the probation period, the newly recruited Junior Associates will be required to complete e-lessons as prescribed by the bank in order to be confirmed in the Bank. Failure to complete the e-lessons during probation may result in an extension of the probation period until the completion of the same. Furthermore, before the probation period comes to an end, the performance of the newly recruited employees will be evaluated, and those whose performance fails to meet the Bank’s expectations may have their probation period extended.
